Our graduate program is an exciting opportunity to develop practical experience related to your study and learn all about the land development industry. Upon entering our graduate program you will participate in a six-month rotation working across all four of our business divisions; Finance and Strategy, Business Development and Marketing, Metropolitan, Regional and Industrial teams. During the rotational period you will be exposed to all facets of the business and will have an opportunity for on-the-job learning, participating in external training and learning more about LandCorp and the property industry.

Our recent graduates have participated in a range of activities including:
  • Lease interpretation
  • Assisting in property management functions
  • Site visits
  • Researching and making recommendations on corporate strategies such as sustainability issues
  • Working with Project Managers on projects
  • Writing policies
  • Community consultation
  • Running a payroll
  • and much more…….

This is an invaluable learning period with opportunities for on-site and external training. At the end of the rotational period you’ll become a Project Officer, assisting and supporting the Project Manager in your business division. Many of our past graduates now manage large-scale land developments like Perth’s waterfront and Alkimos. 

What do we look for in a graduate?  

The property and land development industry is diverse and offers careers in a variety of disciplines. Working with us, you’ll be centrally located in our Perth office, collaborating on projects across WA. Your degree in a related field such as Property, Planning, Engineering, Architecture, Commerce, Environmental Science, Construction Management or Surveying is favourable, although not essential, to starting a career with us. We’re looking for individuals who are committed to excel and who have:

  • A “can do” attitude
  • Research and analysis skills
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • A team player attitude
 Selection Process

Graduate Officer positions will be advertised in the West Australian for three consecutive weeks, this is normally done in June – July. Following the closing date for applications, the following steps will be taken: 

  • Assessment of the received applications against the success factors by three members of the selection panel.
  • Short listing applicants for an interview.
  • Notifying shortlisted applicants about their interviews
  • Conducting interviews
  • Submission of the report with recommendation to appoint for approval
  • Endorsement of recommendations to appoint
  • Notifying success and unsuccessful applicants
  • Employment offer to successful applicants to commence January each year.

Your resume should include: 

  • Personal details including name, address and telephone number
  • Relevant work experience starting with the most recent position, including dates when work experiences had occurred and listing responsibilities you were assigned.
  • Education and training achievements (include any studies you are currently undertaking)
  • Any activities outside of work that maybe relevant
  • Referees who can confirm your experience, including referee’s names, work addresses and contact telephone numbers.

Full Academic Record from the university where you completed or are finishing your final year of study, listing the units you studied in your degree and the results obtained for each unit.  (this information is important as your academic record is a significant factor used to decide which applicants to shortlist for interview). To be considered for an interview you need to:

  • Possess degree from a recognised tertiary institution in the year of application or be in your final year of study before graduation.
  • Demonstrate a high academic standard
  • Meet the success factors
If your qualifications were obtained outside of Australia you should obtain an assessment of your qualifications from the Overseas Qualifications Unit of the Department of Education and Training.
